IT Security Specialist

IT Security Specialist is responsible for managing or performing work associated with developing, communicating, implementing, enforcing, and monitoring security controls to protect the organization's technology assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- IT degree or 3 years minimum of work experience in a security related field
- Knowledge of conducting systematic security assessments of solutions to identify security risks
- PCI Compliance, preferred
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop security standards and best practices for the system and organization
- Develop and implement security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms and diverse environments
- Supporting audits and internal compliance initiatives
- Recommend security improvements to optimize security posture
- Determine security violations and inefficiencies and develop action plans to address them
- Facilitate and participate in risk management activities related to IT security
- Perform risk assessments
- Follow-up on risk treatment plans and results from security testing activities
- Monitor and measure compliance with PCI
- Establish and follow-up on corrective action plans from security audits
- Stay up-to-date on security related trends to keep system current
- Monitors and utilizes intrusion detection systems and security tool-sets for the identification of suspicious and malicious activities
- Education and training of employees in IT security in general
- Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system, and external Web integrity scans
- Recommends, develops, monitors, and enforces information security policies, Promotes general security and PCI security awareness among staff
- Regular attendance consistent with the Company Attendance Policy
- All other duties as assigned by management
