Heavy Equipment Repair Shop Foreman

The Heavy Equipment Repair Shop Foreman is responsible for exercising discretion and judgement in overseeing the daily operations and maintenance activities of the shop in conjunction with the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School or GED required- college degree preferred
- 3 years previous management experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both internal and external to the department both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outside inclement weather
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and be insurable to drive through our Insurance Company
Knowledge and Skills Required for a Heavy Equipment Shop Foreman:
- Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools and equipment used in the repair and fabrication of trucks and heavy equipment
- Knowledge of effective time management and prioritization
- Effective problem skills
- Previous shop supervisory role preferred
- Proficient in welding and fabricating
- Previous mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and powered industrial work experience
- DOT, OSHA, and MSHA experience preferred
Heavy Duty Shop Foreman Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise the daily activities of truck and equipment mechanics, semi-skilled workers and field technicians
- Guiding employees and providing regular feedback both verbally and with employee performance reviews on their completed work
- Establishing and maintaining a clean, safe work ensure compliance with company policies
- Identify training needs and ensure that we are providing continually training
- Reinforce daily safe work practices and the delivery of safety meetings and ensures that proper company rules, OSHA and MSHA rules are followed
- Hands on manager who leads by example and motivate a team both through their actions and words
- This position could be both days and nights
