The Safety and Training Administrator position is responsible for compiling the DOT (Department of Transportation) files and creating the training files for newly hired CMV drivers.
Necessary Skills:
- Advanced ability to understand and speak English.
- The ability to convey complex directions.
- Language skills include the ability to analyze and communicate effectively, including but not limited to the ability to compose concise procedures, memos, and letters.
- Ability to speak and listen professionally, and to work with various people from diverse backgrounds.
- Advanced computer skills necessary; Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Access proficiency required.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to draft and carry out detailed instructions. Ability to identify and deal with problems involving a variety of variables in random situations, including problem solving.
- Ability to work at a fast-paced with high attention to accuracy.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains DOT files including employment verifications, physicals, drug screens, and Medical Certification cards.
- Maintains training files and records and notifies managers and/or supervisors when expirations dates are coming due.
- Coordinates random drug screenings per Company policies.
- Maintains incident files via spreadsheets and other software.
- Coordinates trainings and serves as a general admin for the safety and training department.
- Assists in preparing materials for weekly and monthly Safety Talks
- Performs a variety of support duties which may include maintaining department records, compiling data for preparation of reports, entering information into databases, and sorting and/or filing.
- Regular attendance consistent with the Company Attendance Policy.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
