Title Landman

Responsibilities and Duties for a Title Landman:
- Analyze and interpret record chains of title, complex leases, contracts and/or instruments to determine mineral ownership, rights, obligations, responsibilities, and costs of interest.
- Responsible for the setup and maintenance of vesting deeds, mineral/surface ownership, leases, lease modifications, miscellaneous contracts, and other various records in company land database.
- Determine working interests and burdens associated with interests based on title analysis of deeds, title opinions, assignments, purchase & sale agreements, estate and probate documents, leases and royalty agreements and pooling declarations, etc.
- Identify curative needs and create necessary documents to perfect title.
- Evaluate and determine status of leases affected by producing, shut-in, temporarily abandoned, or plugged wells, etc.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (must be insurable under our insurance company)
Knowledge and Skills for a Title Landman:
- Previous experience abstracting, preparing runsheets, and composing ownership reports.
- Possesses a persistent personality and an attitude that overcomes obstacles to achieve assigned objectives.
- Proven record of submitting completed assignments prior to deadlines and ability to work efficiently under strict time restraints.
