Kimble: Teamwork in Action
"Not leaving anyone behind is one of Kimble's focal points," says Shawn M., a Residential Driver at Kimble. "Everyone's in communication, you work as a team and you don't leave an area until you're certain the job is done."
If Shawn completes his route early, he reaches out to the other drivers in that same area to see if anyone needs assistance. This is just typical behavior among the drivers at Kimble.
"We’re a collective group that works hand-in-hand," says Shawn. "We update each other on construction areas in our routes, we check in to make sure no one needs assistance, and everyone helps out where needed."
A Big Family
Shawn enjoys the camaraderie between team members at Kimble.
"From the drivers to the dispatchers to the supervisors and those moving the trash and recycling – it’s just a family atmosphere," says Shawn.
Part of that family includes the corporate office, and Shawn was surprised to have the Vice President of Waste and Recycling Operations join him for a ride along one day.
"It was an honor to have him along," says Shawn. "That guy is amazing, and we created a friendship and knocked out the route like it was any other day."
Shawn was able to show him the teamwork in action and the dedications displayed by the drivers- to their routes and each other.
Teamwork and Opportunities
Shawn says that his experience with Kimble has been so good that he recommends it to others.
"I tell everyone, if you want a company that promotes teamwork and gives you opportunities for development, look at Kimble," says Shawn. "I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. I love it here."
